Dear Sierra Unified Community,

As we move into the final stretch of the school year, there is a special kind of energy across our campuses. The end of the year brings celebrations, milestones, and opportunities to reflect on all that our students, staff, and families have accomplished together. It is a time filled with pride, gratitude, and excitement for what lies ahead.

State testing is now upon us, and it represents an important moment for our students. This is their opportunity to demonstrate how much they have learned and grown throughout the year. The results also provide our teachers with valuable information as they begin planning for next year, ensuring we continue to meet the needs of every student. In many ways, this season is like our Super Bowl—a time when the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our students and educators truly shine. We are incredibly proud of the effort our students are putting in and deeply appreciative of the support and encouragement provided by our staff and families.

We are also excited for our sixth-grade students, who will be heading to camp next week. This is a meaningful tradition and a highlight of the year, offering hands-on learning experiences that foster independence, teamwork, and a deeper connection to the world around them. We know this will be an unforgettable experience filled with growth, discovery, and lasting memories.

A huge congratulations goes out to our Sierra FFA students for their outstanding achievement in earning first place at the Fresno Field Days and at the State Finals. This accomplishment reflects not only their hard work and dedication, but also the strength of the program and the support of our incredible advisors. We are proud to celebrate this success with our entire community.

As we look at the continued growth and improvement of our district, we are pleased to share updates on Measure U projects. The air conditioning project is expected to receive DSA approval by Monday, April 27th, with a bid opening scheduled for Wednesday, April 29th. Additionally, the larger modernization project is anticipated to receive DSA approval by mid-June, with a proposed bid opening in mid-July. These projects represent our ongoing commitment to providing safe, comfortable, and modern learning environments for our students and staff.

This time of year is also an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the incredible work of our educators and staff. Every day, they go above and beyond to support our students, and the progress we see is a direct reflection of their dedication. Thank you for all that you do to make Sierra Unified such a special place.

As always, thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we are finishing the year strong and setting the stage for even greater success ahead.

With appreciation,
Dr. Lori Grace
